Returning from Educause

Mark and I had a very good meeting at EDUCAUSE. We were successful in arranging private demos of Croquet for some key thought leaders in higher education IT circles. Sometimes it seemed as if we were in continuous demo mode for much of the conference and it appeared that all of the demos were very warmly received. Mark and I fielded a number of requests for follow up meetings and were invited to present Croquet at several different important venues in the coming year. There are also some very interesting potentials for collaboration that will benefit the entire project. Bottom line is that it looks as if there will be significant traction for Croquet in higher education IT circles.



By the way, we were still showing the v.111 demo that we've been using for almost nine months now. Thats a shame, becuase so much has progressed with the technology since we threw that demo together for C5 2004 in Kyoto. Now we have worldbase, video avatars, GUI improvements, physics engine, audio mixing, and alot more interesting educational content. Looks like its time to put together a new educationally-oriented demo in "Jasmine" that contains the new functionalities and content we are now developing at UW and UM.
