Having the project slashdotted was an interesting and rewarding experience. The morning of October 12th made that clear. Aside from the usual (and tiresomely predictable) detractors of anything 3D, there were surprisingly few negative comments. It was very gratifying to see that others do understand what we are trying to accomplish. Hopefully, they will join in to help in the effort. Here are some excerpts of the best postings:



"This is the second revolution of the computer interface, and a more important one than the first, the internet will become a hundred times bigger within a year of the final release, the office workstation will become a thousand times more powerful, the number of computer nerds who get addicted to cyberspace and have trouble leaving it will increase expontentially. What you see in the screenshots is the tip of an iceberg, and the tip by itself is of historical size"

"After going through the screenshots and FAQ, wow this is revolutionary. It really re-thinks the way we interact, not only with the PC, but with other over the internet. It really utilizes all the broadband and graphics capability our PC and internet offers today, instead of the same old 2D windows and mouse interface which was conceived before any of these are available. Croquet spaces to me is like the convergence of MMORPGs and the WWW. A 3D OS which by its very nature becomes a browser to the Interweb."
